Anniversary of the Discovery of Lascaux Cave Paintings and the Birth Anniversary of Ben Shahn

Ansharah held a painting competition on 12th September, 2012, in commemoration of the seventy-second anniversary of the discovery of the prehistoric cave paintings in Lascaux, France in 1940 and to mark the birth anniversary of the great Lithuanian-American painter Ben Shahn (1898-1969). A number of enthusiastic students  took part in it.

Birth Anniversaries of Paul Kane, Bengt Lindstrom and Armand Vaillancourt

Ansharah held an orientation session on Monday, 3rd September, 2012, to mark the birth anniversary of not just one, but three great artists: the Canadian painter Paul Kane (1810-1871), the Swedish painter Bengt Lindstrom (1925-2008) and the Canadian sculptor and painter Armand Vaillancourt (b. 1929). A documentary film on the great Israeli sand artist Ilana Yahav was screened and a quiz contest focused on fine arts was held in which the students took part in large numbers. The gathering was addressed by the club's coordinators Dr. Haris Qadeer and Ms. Isha Paul.
